Great news regarding GSM frequencies
about 8 years ago – Wed, Mar 14, 2018 at 01:24:47 AM

We are happy to announce that the Zanco tiny t1 phone will now be modified to incorporate all four GSM frequencies on the one tiny handset, enabling it to work anywhere in the world that has an active 2G network.

This means that the Zanco tiny t1 now supports the following frequencies/bands in the one handset.

GSM-900 / GSM-1800

GSM-1900 / GSM-850

This fantastic news is great for international travelers who were hoping to use their phone in different countries and regions (so long as there is an active 2G network).

For those of you who have still not completed the survey please complete it as soon as possible, no matter which option you choose all 4 bands will be supported in your Zanco tiny t1.

Best Regards

GSM Frequencies
about 8 years ago – Wed, Feb 21, 2018 at 11:49:26 PM

Hi Backers

We understand that there has been some concerns and confusion regarding the selection of GSM frequencies for the Zanco tiny t1 phone since we sent out the backer survey.

In response to this, the Zanco engineers are working hard to see if it is possible for all of the frequency bands to be included in one tiny handset.

Hopefully, we will find out if this is possible over the next week to 10 days - Please bear with us and we will update you again once we get some news.

In the meantime, it is still important for you to complete the survey and select the most appropriate GSM frequency for your region.

Thank you

BackerKit surveys are coming!
about 8 years ago – Sat, Feb 17, 2018 at 04:54:25 PM

Soon, you'll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It's important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond.

Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like.

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts. If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://zanco-tiny-t1-worlds-smallest-phone.backerkit.com

In order for us to send you the correct phone for your country, we will need you to tell us which GSM frequency you require for your phone.

What is a GSM frequency band?

GSM frequency bands or frequency ranges are the cellular frequencies designated for the operation of mobile phones. These are different depending on which country you live in.

GSM-900 and GSM-1800 are used in most parts of the world including most of Africa, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Oceania (apart from Japan and South Korea where GSM has never been introduced)

GSM-1900 and GSM-850 are used in most of North, South and Central America

In order for us to send you the correct phone for your country, we will need you to tell us which GSM frequency you require for your phone. You will be asked to provide us with this information when completing your backer survey or when preordering your phone.

It is important that you check which GSM frequency band is used in your region to ensure that you receive the correct Zanco tiny t1 that will work in your country.

Finding out which frequency band you will need to choose for your region is simple to do. You can simply check with your local service provider or visit their website and ask them which GSM frequency they are using.

Alternatively, there are various websites where you can access this information for example:

https://www.gearbest.com/blog/how-to/country-based-mobile-phone-network-frequency-bands-coverage-guide-1144#U

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GSM_frequency_bands#Frequency_mixing_between_GSM_900/1800_and_GSM_850/1900

Please ensure that you have checked the most up to date information before making your phone selection.
